Privacy Policy
ScreenTime Plus · Updated 26 October 2026
1. Who We Are
ScreenTime Plus and ScreenTime Search are entertainment discovery services operated under the Scribedby name at screentimeplus.com. This notice describes how personal information may be used when you browse, search, register an account, or use ScreenTime+ Private.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. The identity and postal contact details of the legal entity or individual responsible for processing personal data should also be published here where legally required.
2. Information We Process
- Account details: When you register, we collect your email address and store a protected password hash, account identifier, account creation date and membership status. We do not need your plain-text password.
- Subscription information: For paid membership, we may store Paddle customer and subscription identifiers, transaction-related event identifiers, membership status and dates needed to manage access and resolve billing issues.
- Search and site interactions: We process the searches and requests you submit to deliver discovery results. Aggregate search-term counts may be used to improve relevance, where enabled. We do not claim all searches are anonymous in every system or log.
- Technical information: Our hosting provider and security systems may process IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser details and error information for website operation, security and troubleshooting.
- Communications: If you email us, we process the contact information and message you provide so we can respond.
3. How and Why We Use Information
We use information to operate the service, create and secure accounts, authenticate sign-ins, provide search and trailer features, administer paid memberships, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Depending on the activity, our legal basis under UK data protection law may be performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where required (for example, for non-essential cookies or personalised advertising).
4. ScreenTime+ Private and Paddle Payments
ScreenTime+ Private is a planned paid membership at £2.99 per month. Payments and subscription billing are handled by Paddle. When you use checkout, Paddle may collect payment, billing and transaction details under its own privacy terms. We use payment and subscription notifications to manage your membership. We do not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers on ScreenTime+ servers.
Subscription access and advertising removal should only be treated as active after the relevant systems have been deployed and verified. Please refer to the Terms of Service and Refund Policy for subscription terms and refund information once those pages are published.
5. Advertising and Affiliate Links
Free pages may display advertising provided by Google AdSense and links to third-party retailers, including Amazon affiliate links. These providers may receive technical information or use cookies and similar technologies when their content loads or when you follow a link. Their own privacy notices apply. ScreenTime+ Private is intended to remove our advertising and affiliate placements from the paid experience once fully implemented; embedded third-party video services may still process data independently.
Where required, we will seek consent before setting or allowing non-essential advertising or analytics cookies. The actual cookie controls and scripts on the site must match this notice.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a session cookie to maintain account sign-in and help protect the account area. This is necessary for the account service. Your browser may also store interface preferences such as light/dark mode and Spoiler Shield settings, and temporary playback or offline cache information. Browser settings can be used to clear local storage and cookies, although clearing a session cookie may sign you out.
Advertising and embedded services may use additional cookies or similar technologies. Any cookie-consent mechanism and detailed cookie disclosures must accurately reflect the services actually deployed.
7. Third-Party Content and Providers
ScreenTime+ may display trailers, video embeds or images from YouTube and other external sources. Opening or playing embedded content may allow those services to receive your IP address, browser information and interaction data. See Google's Privacy Policy. Our hosting provider, Paddle and other necessary service providers may also process data to deliver their services.
8. Retention and Security
We retain account information while needed to provide the account and for a reasonable period afterward where necessary for security, dispute handling or legal compliance. Payment and billing records may need to be retained for applicable legal and accounting requirements. Server-log retention depends on operational and security needs. Exact retention periods should be confirmed against our live systems and providers.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including password hashing and restricted access to configuration secrets. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where legally required.
If you are in the UK, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
10. International Processing
Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection rules require it, appropriate safeguards should be used for international transfers. The actual locations and transfer safeguards should be checked against current provider arrangements.
11. Children
ScreenTime+ is an entertainment discovery service and is not designed for children to purchase subscriptions independently. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children contrary to applicable law. If you believe a child has supplied personal information improperly, contact us.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as ScreenTime+ develops. The updated date above will change when we publish revisions. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
